1898 is our first creation and takes its name from the year the philippines declared its independence. Rather than recreating a specific historical event, we wanted to capture the spirit of a people: their hope, resilience, pride, and ability to flourish even in the most difficult times.
At the heart of that story lies the Sampaguita, the national flower of the philippines. Although it is a small and delicate flower, it holds immense symbolic value for filipinos.
Traditionally, it represents purity, humility, fidelity, and quiet strength. It is present at religious celebrations, official ceremonies, and offerings, and many people associate it with childhood memories, family homes, and the streets of the philippines perfumed by its garlands.
For us, the Sampaguita symbolizes the bond between generations and the ability to preserve one’s identity even when far from home.

Our collection is intentionally presented exclusively in travel-sized bottles. This is a fundamental part of Lola's Garden's identity.
Our fragrances represent the Filipino diaspora—people who have carried their culture, memories, and identity far beyond the Philippine islands. Each bottle is designed to travel, to accompany those who move across borders and carry pieces of their heritage with them.
USAGE
A 10 ml bottle of 1898 offers approximately 120 sprays. With 2–3 sprays per wear, it lasts around 40–60 days when worn daily, or several months with occasional use.
HOW TO APPLY
Still rubbing your wrists together? A fragrance was never meant to be rushed.
Rubbing the skin generates heat and friction, disturbing the composition and causing the top notes to fade before the scent can fully unfold as intended.
Apply fragrance to well-moisturized skin, focusing on the pulse points, then allow it to settle naturally.
If needed, press the skin together gently — never rub.
